ULLA summer school 2013 in London 


The ULLA summer school 2013 was held with great success at the University College London School of Pharmacy in London from July 7 - July 14.

The host, UCL School of Pharmacy, had organised an inspiring and challenging academic programme with courses covering an amplitude of research areas and convened by researchers from the ULLA institutions, a poster session, a job fair with representatives from both academia and industry and symposium day for the 153 PhD students.

Overall programme:

July 6: Arrival day

July 7: Opening of the summer school with registration, plenary lectures, discussions

July 8 - 12: Course programme

July 10: Lectures, job fair followed by a boat party

July 12: Farewell closing dinner incl. poster prizes with after dinner party at the Koko Night Club

Each PhD student presented his/her work on a poster and the posters were presented during the entire programme and the best poster was awarded a prize sponsored by the publishing company Wiley-Blackwell.

A representative of Wiley-Blackwell was present on the opening day of the summer school with an array of the titles of the ULLA textbook series and the PhD students were encouraged to suggest titles of future books.

The summer school was organized by the scientific committee of ULLA and by an organizing committee at the UCL School of Pharmacy. 5 PhD candidates from the UCL School of Pharmacy were active on the social activities committee.
