Workshops & Lectures

The ULLA consortium organizes workshops and lectures to increase staff mobility and to enhance the networking opportunities of the scientists at the various institutions.

Biennial ULLA workshops

Every other year (in-between two summer schools), an ULLA workshop is organized for PhD students from the member institutes. The workshop takes 2 or 3 days and comprises both teaching and hands-on sessions. About 30 students are selected by the different institutes to participate. Importantly, PhD students are responsible for both the selection of workshop topics and the organization of the workshop.

ULLA lectures in connection with meeting of the executive committee

An open ULLA lecture is being organized in connection with the meetings of the executive committee (2 times a year). The lecture is given by one or two speakers from an ULLA member institution. In addition, a member of the executive committee gives a brief introduction to ULLA and its various activities.

ULLA lectures on an ad hoc basis

The ULLA consortium also offers the possibility to organize lectures on an ad hoc basis. To apply for funding, staff members of an ULLA institute may fill in this application form and send it to Joachim Brouwers. Applications are processed on a continuous basis. The grant (maximum 1000 €) may be used for travel, accommodation and meals for participants.
